George Norman Riley born 1964, growing up along the Barron River (Bunna Warru), a place called Kowrowa. George’s dreaming is the wind, fire and water and is inspired to paint by watching and learning from nature and family members.
The painting shows a modern Aboriginal style with very bright colours.

Story of Bundarra Spirit
Bundarra means cassowary. In the Dreamtime indigenous people believe all the life started with the egg of the cassowary. They honour the cassowary and thank this totem to distribute seeds in the rainforest to create new life. The bird become the Spirit that comes when you need him most and goes when he knows he is not wanted. He is the Old Man Spirit of the rainforest.
