George Riley Aboriginal name: “Jillimablu” – Owl

George Norman Riley born 1964, growing up along the Barron River (Bunna Warru), a place called Kowrowa. George’s dreaming is the wind, fire and water and is inspired to paint by watching and learning from nature and family members. 

The painting shows a modern Aboriginal style with very bright colours.

Story

At the bottom it shows Black Mountain, goes up to the place George's father grew up and shows the whole Cape York. Many animals are integrated in the painting. Have a close look and you will find more and more animals like the crocodile, Doogong, Sting ray, Brush turkey and more.
