George Riley Aboriginal name: “Jillimablu” – Owl

George Norman Riley born 1964, growing up along the Barron River (Bunna Warru), a place called Kowrowa. George’s dreaming is the wind, fire and water and is inspired to paint by watching and learning from nature and family members. 

The painting shows a modern Aboriginal style with very bright colours.

Story

The firebird has his name in stealing burning fire sticks from the campfire, will drop it to create a bush fire. Animals are fleeing from the fire and then hunted by the firebird.
